Living in a Convent

"God expects us to have a good community life, to pray well, to work faithfully and

to play cheerfully."

Mother Mary Teresa

Those who have visited our convents know what a special place it is. More important than being our home, it is Jesus' home. He is with us, living in our chapel. So, it isn't surprising that the first place we want to take visitors is to our chapel so that they can spend a little time with Our Lord.

As contemplative-missionaries in the midst of parish life, we strive constantly and in a variety of ways and places to inspire in children of all ages that simple statement of faith, "There He is in the Blessed Sacrament!" Through a vibrant prayer-life and catechetical apostolate, we are blessed to speak with and without words, as teachers and witnesses to Christ's true presence in the Eucharist.

THE MASS

With loving, careful
hands, the convent

sacristan prepares

the altar for Mass.

"Our whole day is

full of good things

for God, but there

is one work of the

day which stands

way above all others.

This is the offering

to God of His Divine

Son....

"The Mass is the

best act of the day."

Mother Mary Teresa

SPIRITUAL READING

The convent library is filled with many helpful books.

"In the Holy Family

we can study, for the

rest of our lives,

Poverty, Chastity

and Obedience for

our own instruction,

and we shall never

exhaust the subject."

Mother Mary Teresa

RECREATION

Recreation includes games, singing and doing enjoyable things together!

The dishes must be done, why not with a little fun!

"Community life ought to be far better than even the best home life, for it is the union of a consecrated group."
