Formation

"This Convent is a
School of Perfection,
And OUR LORD
Is the Teacher."
Mother
Mary Teresa

Requirements
are good physical and emotional health; and at least a high school education
with the ability for college work.
Our formation program consists of a
postulancy of six to twelve months, followed by a two-year novitiate in Monroe,
N.Y. After about five to six years
of temporary vows, the Sister makes perpetual vows.

Perpetual Profession of Vows
Sister Jean Marie, Venerating
her Mission Crucifix.

Sisters
Julia Marie, Sophia Maria, Marla Marie
with Bishop Austin Vaughan
By their perpetual profession, Sisters consecrate themselves to God for life. They become fully incorporated into the Congregation, assuming the obligation perpetually to observe the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty and obedience and to live according to the constitutions and statutes of the community.
At
perpetual profession Sisters receive a ring as a sign of their lifelong
commitment, and a mission crucifix symbolizing their perpetual dedication to
Jesus Crucified.

MARYCREST, our Motherhouse and U.S. Novitiate, is situated atop a hill above the village of Monroe in the Archdiocese of New York. Other convents are in the Archdioceses of New York and Manila, and in the Dioceses of Scranton and Syracuse, and Okigwe and Warri (Nigeria).
