MARYCREST YOUTH DAY 2026

Dear Youth Leader,

We are very happy to announce that in conjunction with the Youth Days celebrated locally in Diocese around the world, the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate are hosting a one-day event called “Marycrest Youth Day 2026”, based on the theme given by our Holy Father “You also are my witnesses, because you have been with me” (John 15:27). This event will take place at our motherhouse, “Marycrest” in Monroe, New York August 1, 2026.

“Marycrest Youth Day 2026” is for teens who are interested in deepening their love for Jesus and our Catholic faith. They will share in various events including: catechesis, worship, music and fun.

The cost of “Marycrest Youth Day 2026″ is $50.00 per participant (youth or adult). All fees are non-refundable. Included in the fee: two meals (lunch and dinner), snacks, T-shirt, religious articles,  and the conference.

MORE ABOUT THE THEME
The theme “You also are my witnesses, because you have been with me” calls for testimony to the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This is rooted in the personal relationship and firsthand experience of his disciples. The phrase comes from John 15:27, spoken by Jesus during the Last Supper.

Core aspects of the theme
  • A firsthand account: Jesus spoke these words to his disciples, who had been with him since the beginning of his ministry. Their credibility as witnesses comes from this intimate, personal experience. Their testimony was based on what they had personally seen and heard.
  • Empowered by the Holy Spirit: The disciples’ testimony is not given in their own strength alone. Jesus promises to send the Holy Spirit, who will also bear witness to him and empower the disciples to carry on their mission. This divine power enables them to give their testimony with boldness.
  • The content of the testimony: The disciples were charged to bear witness to “all these things” concerning Jesus, which includes his death, resurrection, and exaltation. For modern Christians, witnessing involves sharing what Jesus has done for the world, informed by their own personal experience of his transformative power.
  • Witnessing as a way of life: As Jesus’s followers, people are called to be a living testament through their lives and actions. The fruit of behavior—love, forgiveness, and service—will demonstrate the reality of God and authenticate the message.
  • The risk of being a witness: In the biblical context, the word for “witness,” martus, is the root of the word “martyr”. The disciples were warned that their witness would bring persecution, just as it had for Jesus. Standing firm in one’s faith, even at personal cost, is part of being a true witness.
Expansion to all Christians
While Jesus’s original audience was his immediate disciples, the theme is applied broadly to all Christians through the Acts of the Apostles and the epistles. All believers, by virtue of their personal relationship with Christ, are called to be his witnesses. In this sense, “you have been with me” means that believers have come to know Jesus through their faith journey, not that they were physically present during his ministry.
This theme encourages believers to recognize their unique call to share their faith, knowing that their testimony is made credible by their personal experience with Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

GETTING READY

We will accept registration for youth accompanied by adult chaperones. We are also able to register youth who are willing to be chaperoned by our own safe-environment approved chaperones (our Sisters or adults from other parishes).

There must be a minimum of 1 adult chaperone for every 8 youth. If you are short a chaperone, let us know and we can probably help.

  • Adult Chaperone: someone attending the conference to chaperone youth. Must be 21 years of age or older and compliant with New York Archdiocese Safe Environment policies. This includes a Virtus© or Safer Spaces workshop and background check.
  • Youth: the participants in the conference must be entering 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grades in the fall of 2025 or be a 2025 high school graduate. (Exceptions can be made for incoming 8th graders who are mature or who are siblings of high school participants.)
  • Submitted Registration Form reserves your spot.

Because of space constraints at Marycrest, the number of youth participants cannot exceed ninety. We will therefore accept registrations on a “first come, first served” basis.
